EBA error codes for the DORA Register of Information

This reference covers the codes in the EBA's published catalogue: the "Overview of the RoI reporting technical checks and validation rules", updated 28 April 2025 (EBA (opens in a new tab)). Codes outside that catalogue are not covered here.

How the EBA checks your register

The EBA runs four kinds of check (EBA explainer (opens in a new tab)). Each kind has its own page here.

The codes the AFM sees most often have their own page: 103, 701, 702, 714, 720, 807 and 808 (AFM Q&A (opens in a new tab)). So do 805 and 809.

A code isn't listed here

Then it isn't in the EBA's published catalogue. That happens: the EBA's own sample responses cite VR_21, VR_85, VR_87 and VR_99, which the catalogue doesn't contain (EBA (opens in a new tab)). We don't guess what such a code means. Email us the feedback file and we'll take a look.

Always look up the code, not the message text. The EBA's messages sometimes contain typos, such as "LEI format is not cotrrect" in the sample responses.
