B_01.03 List of branches

What this template is for

B_01.03 lists the branches of the entities in scope. You need it when an ICT service is used by a branch rather than by the entity itself.

Filling it in

  • Give each branch an identification code, the LEI of its head office, a name and a country.
  • The head-office LEI must be an entity listed in B_01.02.
  • No branches? Leave the sheet empty. It is still declared in the package, as the EBA requires.
  • A branch that uses an ICT service appears with its code in B_04.01.

How DORA Convert handles it

Our Excel template has a sheet named after this template. Each column header carries a note with what to enter, an example and the official source. Drop-down cells show each option as a label with its EBA code; the package carries the code. Errors block the package; warnings do not. See what we check.

  • Head-office LEI: checked for format and check digits.
  • Link to B_01.02: a head-office LEI missing from B_01.02 is a warning, because the data model flags the field as a foreign key without naming the target table.
  • Keys: the pair of branch code and head-office LEI must be unique.
  • EBA rules: the EBA's active business rules for this template run as warnings.
  • Not checked: we don't check that a branch code used in B_04.01 exists here.

EBA validation rules

Official note: Active branch-table checks only. (VR table B_01.03)

Active rules

  • e23675_e

    Official expression: with {tB_01.03, default:null, interval:false}: not ( isnull ({c*}) )

Our explanation: Every column of B_01.03, c0010 to c0040, must be filled in each row. Fill in each empty cell on the branch rows.
  • v8856_m

    Official expression: with {tB_01.03, default: null, interval: false}: if ( not ( isnull ({c0030}) ) ) then ( ( not ( isnull ({c0040}) ) )) endif

Our explanation: When "Name of the branch" (c0030) is filled, "Country of the branch" (c0040) must be filled too. Choose the branch's country in c0040.
  • v8857_m

    Official expression: with {tB_01.03, default: null, interval: false}: if ( not ( isnull ({c0040}) ) ) then ( ( not ( isnull ({c0030}) ) )) endif

Our explanation: When "Country of the branch" (c0040) is filled, "Name of the branch" (c0030) must be filled too. Enter the branch's name in c0030.
  • v8892_m

This VR checks the format of column 0020 (LEI code)

    Official expression: match({tB_01.03, c0030}[get LHH], "^[A-Z0-9]{18}[0-9]{2}$")

Our explanation: The LEI must have 20 characters: 18 capital letters or digits, then two digits. The rule checks the LEI in "LEI of the financial entity head office of the branch" (c0020); the EBA's formula reaches it through the row's "Name of the branch" (c0030). Correct the LEI in c0020.

Rule texts are copied from the EBA validation-rule workbook, as recorded on 10 March 2026. The EBA writes most rules only as a formula, in English. "Our explanation" is our plain-language reading of the rule, not EBA text; where they differ, the official text applies.
