B_06.01 Functions identification

What this template is for

B_06.01 lists the functions that use ICT services, with their licensed activity, criticality assessment and recovery objectives. B_02.02 refers to these functions by their identifier.

Filling it in

Your own functions: there is no official list. Identify functions from your own operational and organisational framework, core and support functions alike (EBA FAQ Q56–Q57).
Licensed activity (0020): choose the code for the activity. The EBA's Annex 2 list maps activities to entity types.
Numbering: the published ITS text skips 0050. The reporting package numbers the fields consecutively, 0050 to 0100, and that numbering applies (EBA FAQ Q46).
Recovery time and recovery point objectives are whole numbers.

AFM clarifications

A function identifier can't be repeated for different licensed activities. Create a unique function identifier for each combination of LEI (0040), function (0030) and licensed activity (0020) (AFM Q&A, March 2026 (opens in a new tab)).

Unique identifiers: the key is the function identifier together with the entity LEI, as in the EBA taxonomy. Reusing an identifier for the same LEI, for example for a second licensed activity, is an error. That matches the AFM's answer: give each combination its own identifier.
Use in B_02.02: a function identifier in B_02.02 that exists here only under a different LEI is an error. One missing from this sheet altogether is a warning.
LEI: must be an entity in B_01.02; a missing one is a warning.
EBA rules: the EBA's active business rules for this template run as warnings; the inactive one is not applied.

Official clarifications

c0010 Function Identifier: FAQ Q56-Q57: there is no official fixed function list; the identifier comes from the financial entity's own function set.
c0050 Criticality or importance assessment: FAQ Q46: the reporting package keeps consecutive numbering; B_06.01.0050 remains applicable.
c0060 Reasons for criticality or importance: FAQ Q46: use the corrected consecutive numbering from the reporting package rather than the erroneous numbering in the published ITS text.

Our explanation: The EBA has marked this rule inactive. It checks that the LEI in "LEI of the financial entity" (c0040) has the LEI format (20 characters: 18 capital letters or digits, then two digits).
